Guided Hunts Experience

Join us for thrilling guided hunts in pursuit of ruffed grouse and woodcock in beautiful northern Michigan.

What Clients Provide

Clients should bring a shotgun, appropriate shotgun shells (we recommend #7.5 shot), protective eyewear, a hunter orange hat and/or vest, hunting attire, boots, and a Michigan small game hunting license (available online or locally). We recommend waterproof footwear, or at a minimum, a second set of boots for wet conditions.

Additional Opportunities

Weather permitting, grouse hunting continues through the month of December with opportunities to bag big, mature grouse in the snow-covered woods. We can also arrange for traditional beagle hunts for both cottontails and snowshoe hares with the occasional opportunity to shoot grouse. Or make it a mixed bag day with a half day or running hounds for hare in the morning and a late season grouse hunt with pointers in the afternoon.

Wild Bird Hunts

We provide half day and full day hunts for wild woodcock and ruffed grouse in classic Great Lakes state upland habitat. Our season opens in mid-September and continues through mid-November. You can expect to hunt poplar cuttings, mixed hardwoods, conifer stands, and the edges of lowlands and cedar swamps. Our dogs are the product of over 30 years of field trialing, hunting, and breeding focused on grouse and woodcock. All of our dogs are in the woods throughout the year training or hunting wild birds and you can expect them to provide heart pounding shot opportunities over stylish points.

Trip Preparation Details

Our weather can vary widely during hunting season. We recommend planning for both warm and cold weather as well as the possibility of walking through damp, lowland areas.
